Reflections on a journey

When did you last take your time to look at the things around you when you were travelling in London? In such a big city it is so easy to focus on getting from A to B in the fastest possible way, experiencing travel as a nuisance. Admittedly, more often than not, we are in a rush and can’t afford the luxury of stopping to admire our surroundings. But when we are not in a rush? Maybe there is more to see than we think?

On a sunny autumn day I started off in Chelsea. My final destination would be Soho, but not directly. I didn’t want to photograph the obvious, but I wanted to capture that everyday objects can be worth having a second look, that there might be more to see than meets the eye at first.
